Brigadier General STEVEN L. CAMPBELL

Brig. Gen. Steven L. Campbell is the Chief of Staff of the Puerto Rico Air National Guard, at Joint Force Headquarters, Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. He serves as the principal advisor to the PRANG Commander and is responsible for strategic planning and guidance for the territory’s wide range of air combat and mobility missions. He directs the force development programs and initiatives impacting nearly 2,000 Airmen in unique units across Puerto Rico.

General Campbell enlisted in the Air Force in June 1997 and received his commission through the Academy of Military Science in 2001. He completed C-130 formal pilot training in February 2003. Throughout his career, he has served as the Chief of Staff, First Air Force, Tyndall Air Force Base, and commanded the 156th Operations Group, and the 123rd Contingency Response Squadron. He is a Weapons Instructor Course graduate and a command pilot with over 3,000 hours flying combat, combat support, and humanitarian relief operations worldwide including Operations CORONET OAK, JOINT FORGE, ENDURING FREEDOM, and IRAQI FREEDOM. Prior to his current position, the general was the Commander, 601st Air Operations Center, Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida.
