"Finance, we work twenty-six hours a day," said Capt. Carlos Vera, former Budget Officer for the 156th Airlift Wing in a brief change of command ceremony on Jan. 24, 2014 during the Unit Training Assembly weekend at Air National Guard Base Muñiz.
"We do magic with numbers," he expressed, after taking over the 156th Comptroller Flight Command from Lt. Col. Victor Dejesus who will be assigned to the Puerto Rico National Guard Joint Forces Headquarters in San Juan.
As the flight's new commander during his speech to wing staff members, he thanked the Wing Commander, Col. Andy Sanchez and the Puerto Rico Air National Guard Commander, Brig. Gen. Wayne Zimmet for giving him the opportunity to run and manage the 46 million dollar federal budget for the PRANG.
"The goal is not only about the money, it's about the possible courses of action I can provide, so the base can go forward in getting the mission done," said Vera. "But most of all, I cannot do it without the 11 enlisted flight members who daily put out their best efforts in supporting me to make that goal happen."
